During this hard time of the coronavirus, the Ontario Government is deciding to cancel March Break for the 2020/2021 school year. The reason they want to do this is to help stop the spread of Covid-19. In doing so they hope to prevent students from hanging out with each other during the March Break (although we haven't really had any breaks). Therefore...we all REALLY NEED A BREAK!!!!

I believe that not only students but teachers need this break. I mean we are all spending hours on our screens, and I have teachers who told me they are on the screen from 7 am to after 9 pm. Teachers need a break too, not only to spend time with their families, but they also just need a week to relax. They are working non-stop for US.  They are planning lessons for us, marking our work, teaching us, providing extra help after school, and much more.

Thus far I've been talking about teachers, but now I'll talk about students. Just as teachers, students are also on their screens on a day-to-day basis. Although it's not as bad as it is for teachers, students also need this break. They are given assignments and/or homework that they need to complete after school, so really the average screen time is really unknown. To stay one week away from doing homework or assignments after school, I don't think that's too much to ask... just to spend quality time with our families, which is something we haven't always been able to do since we're all online all day.     

So please, if you want to help us fellow students/teachers or anyone else who is affected by this possible decision, a signature is all it takes to make a change.
