I am writing this with support from local community members and following the massive outpouring of feedback both locally and on social media.

Residents of Henderson, surrounding areas and those negatively affected by the ‘Henderson Streets Trial’ we ask that you take the time to sign this petition in the hope that this trial will end, and our roads return to pre-trial status.

So many of us have expressed our dissatisfaction at this unwanted trial creating havoc to road users through lane closures, unnecessary detours, changes to parking, distracting artwork and the addition of generous cycle lanes. Henderson Streets trial has had a detrimental effect on local business due to inaccessibility causing loss of revenue.

Not only are these changes dangerous to existing road users, they have been enforced with poor consultation and the use of funding and resources that could have been better utilised in the beautification of Henderson.

A peaceful protest ‘Reinstate the lane’ was held on June 12th with another scheduled for June 26th.
