Dogs can literally save a person's life. Providing comfort and unconditional love for people that suffer from daily stress to post traumatic stress, they give us hope and allow us to feel alive again. Dogs and cats give all of themselves to us and we as human beings can't even stand up for the injustice that happens to them every single day? Shelters around the nation are killing off innocent dogs and cats simply because of space availabilty and being housed in the shelter for too long. The HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) estimates that animal shelters care for 6-8 million dogs and cats every year in the United States, of whom approximately 3-4 million are euthanized. Shelters shouldn't be allowed to take dogs in just to kill half of them later on. This type of behavior is unacceptable and inhumane. How would Americans like it if they were homeless and taken into a mortal home to be killed for no real reason. Shelters kill dogs and cats as if it was no big deal to them. This is unreal. We as human beings are the main voices of creatures that cannot speak: We are THEIR VOICE. Every dog has a heart of a man's best friend, that only sure family memebr that would come home and greet you every time you walk through your door no matter... They stayed with us through the good and the bad, always there simply because they love us. If dogs could talk, I know they would save us in a single heartbeat. If we have even half of a heart like a dog's, we would speak up for their safety. Let's save our one and only four-legged best friend.
