My petition is to open Grooming Salons for dogs. Grooming your dog is essential for the health of the dog. Whether it is a hair cut, bath, or nail trim, it is essential to provide these services at regular intervals for the health of the dog.  Nail trims can not be done at home by the majority of people safely.  Baths are not always possible at home.  Hair cutting for dogs is a skilled trade that requires the correct tools.  Without proper training for  hair cuts, baths, and nail trims, injuries can occur and put undue stresses on Veterinarians.  Veterinarians are overloaded already and can only see patients 1 at a time due to physical distancing.  I believe we should be able to open grooming salons for 1 dog at a time. By providing grooming services 1 dog at a time, people will be safe, as it will be possible to provide physical distancing, and benefit the dog.  I have three dogs.  Tytus, Lilo,  and Captain.  Prior to the safer at home order, my dogs were at our groomer once a month for baths and nail trims.   It has been just over 6 weeks since their last bath and nail trims. They are definitely overdue for nail trims.  This petition will also help all the groomers who are shut down to go back to work. Can you please support this to change current Safer at Home orders to ensure dogs across America are properly cared for?
