Recently , I found a year old cat in the backyard of my house. It was a local Indian breed cat. Initially I thought its a stray cat. But noticing her behavior I concluded he was not a stray. He kept meowing and purring ,probably he lost his way. I fed him and took good care , but I struggled a lot to find the owner. Sharing on Facebook and WhatsApp was just not sufficient as you never know the owner of this cat could be a 50yr old man,living alone,with no internet,WhatsApp, Facebook. A big question for me was 'How do I find the owner?' , who must be desperately waiting for their pet to get traced. At least many countries have the chip system , through which they can trace easily , but its not a common practice in India.

Through this petition , I request /demand a Lost Pet department in Police stations where we can notify about a lost pet so that the owner can find his/her pet easily. OR if not then one common website , where we can  simply upload the picture of the pet with contact details so that owners trace their beloved pet which no less than   like a son/daughter to them. Very importantly - Awareness through ads should be created so that if we have lost a pet or found someone's lost pet , we know where to go.
