As many of us know already, the administration has decided to put an end to our Peninsula Football team for the rest of the season. This is wrong for so many reasons. Firstly, a football team is a basis of a high school. Without this, our school will never be the same and will cease to be a high school for that matter. Secondly, the seniors. It is so unfair to them. The senior football players have worked so hard to be in this position as a senior varsity player for four years and their time to shine at the pv pen game is now being taken away from them. The amount of sweat, blood, and tears that went into them getting to this position should not be paid back by the administration calling quits on the team. Thirdly, the impact that the football team has had on Peninsula. Although some of you may have never been to a football game, don't think that this doesn't apply to you; it does, because the football team is such a pertinent part of our school and it essentially defines us as who we are. The football team has shown us that they will fight and never give up and taking that quality away from Peninsula is just wrong. In addition, the pv pen game is a tradition that has posed as a rivalry game on the hill for so many years. To simply take this away from the students will cause an unbearable amount of pain. The administration may not be knowledgeable of this, but that rivalry game is the one game that everyone looks forward to, hence it being the last game of the season. It's also a game where when you're standing in that crowd, or standing on your ladders, or standing in a huddle on the football field, you look to your right and left and just know that this is your family and they are where you consider home. To take this moment away from us is straight up cruel and unjust. 

We don't know how far this petition will take us, but we ask that you sign it to show our everlasting support for our amazing, dedicated, passionate, and hardworking football players. We students deserve nothing but to feel at home at Peninsula and at a football game is where we can feel in unison. To quote the Grammy winning song, Peninsula Alma Mater, "United we stand, side by side, and in our hearts forever, Pen High Panther Pride." #PeninsulaForever
