ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! US airlines should be penalized for poor management and greed. I totally understand if delays are caused by weather circumstances or something out of their control but most delays are caused by poor management and greed. 

"Under European Union consumer protection laws, passengers are entitled to up to 600 euros for delays, cancellations, and getting bumped from a flight."

The European Union mandates compensation in the event of delayed, canceled, or overbooked flights. I don't see why US government won't protect our rights in the US the same way that the European parliament protects the rights of European citizens. 

Way too many US citizens that travel are affected by this and no US airline company suffers any consequences. I flew in Europe at least 150 times in past 15 years and never had a delay. Imposing some rules will help US airlines to organize their affairs better and put passengers first before money.
