Almost 90% of the commercial vehicles and 50% of private vehicles use multi-tone/shrill/pressure horns.  Selling and installing these horns are banned by law.

Somany vehicles using these banned horns in public is a clear indication that the enforcing authority Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has become defunct.  We never see any news in the news papers that TNPCB conducting raids in the auto spare parts shops for arresting the sale of such horns; nor do we see any press notes or advertisements from TNPCB regarding the use of such banned horns.

We had already sent mails to TNPCB regarding this and they have fallen into their deaf ears.

We humbly request you to direct the TNPCB to conduct regular raids on auto spare parts shops and to publish advertisements in the local news media.
