The Queens Community Board 6 has released a statement about a petition put together by the Forest Hills Chamber of Commerce, in an effort to counter our very own. This petition states a lot of falsehoods and misrepresentation of what the Community Board passed as well as what our campaign is pushing for. The petition also makes light of the pedestrian hazards on Austin Street and seeks to downplay the dangers we all see every day.

I would like to take this chance to remind everyone that the Forest Hills Chamber of Commerce does NOT represent the businesses in Forest Hills or Austin Street. Not only are there many, many businesses on the strip which are not part of the Chamber, but several of the businesses which signed our letter of support are also members of the Chamber. Anything the Chamber says should not be interpreted to mean to be coming from "the businesses".
