We are calling on Southampton City Council to deliver a safe pedestrian crossing on Oakley Road near King Edward Avenue to protect children and families walking to Regents Park School.

Every day, children and families need to cross Oakley Road to get to Regents Park School. Residents have raised concerns for years that crossing here does not feel safe, particularly in the area around King Edward Avenue (and nearby).

A safe, well-designed crossing would help:

• Children walk to school more safely
• Parents with buggies cross with more confidence
• Older and disabled residents cross more safely
• Drivers understand clearly where pedestrians should cross

We ask Southampton City Council to:

1. Commit to delivering a pedestrian crossing on Oakley Road near King Edward Avenue, focused on the Regents Park School walking route.
2. Confirm the next steps and timetable - including feasibility, design, consultation, and delivery.
