The Issue

Speak Up Venango and The Inmate Project believe Sheriff Foy's contributions and dedication to our community, especially in his role as Warden of Venango County Prison, have gone unrecognized and unfairly uncompensated.

Sheriff Foy has been an integral part of our county's law enforcement, ensuring public safety and now managing the Venango County Prison with diligence and integrity. Despite taking on the additional responsibilities of a Warden, Sheriff Foy has not received compensation reflective of this crucial role. It is imperative that we address this oversight and provide him with the recognition and financial remuneration that he deserves.

Across the United States, it is common practice for individuals who take on dual roles in correctional facilities to be compensated accordingly. According to the American Correctional Association, compensating individuals for their additional responsibilities is essential for maintaining high standards of prison management and morale.

We have a clear example in Sheriff Foy of someone who has gone above and beyond in his duties. Fair compensation is not only a matter of fairness but also sets a precedent for valuing and rewarding hard work and dedication in public service roles.

I urge the Venango County Commissioners and relevant stakeholders to fairly compensate Sheriff Foy for his role as Warden of Venango County Prison. Sheriffs and Wardens are pivotal to the fabric of public safety in our community, and it is crucial that they receive the compensation they merit.

Please join me in supporting this cause by signing the petition. Together, we can send a strong message that Venango County values and rewards dedication and excellence in public service.
