Pay Everyman Cinema Employees a Real National and London Living Wage

Pay Everyman Cinema Employees a Real National and London Living Wage
The Issue
Did you know that Everyman cinemas don’t pay a living wage for team members? Similar companies like Curzon do, so why don’t Everyman?
Everyman is a luxury cinema chain charging up to £19.95 a ticket! After record profits due to the success of Barbie and Oppenheimer, and plans to open 5 new venues in 2024, Everyman has no excuse. It’s time to raise wages in line with inflation.
With insecure 10 hour contracts (on average over a 52 weekly period) and being paid less than a living wage (minimum wage starting salary), employees are struggling with the high cost of living in the capital and across the country. Employees often face last minute shift cuts due to the company’s obsession with saving money on labour, and venues are often understaffed. Everyman also pay people under 21 years old less for doing the same work. Everyman employees are facing in work poverty, struggling to pay their rent and bills, (with the average rent having gone up to £989 per month in London). Furthermore Everyman employees do not receive sick pay (for less than a week), and no tips or a uniform allowance. They often work unsociable late hours until 1/2am, with unsafe journeys home and do not get bank holidays, Easter, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day or New Years off and no bonus pay for working these days!
Sign this petition to campaign for UK (£12.60 an hour) and London Living Wage (£13.85 an hour) for ALL Everyman employees whether you’re a member of the public or an employee!
As of October 2024, the Real Living Wage Foundation has published an increase to Living Wages. The National Living Wage is now £12.60 per hour and the London Living Wage is now £13.85 an hour. Everyman falls far short of paying this and is leaving its employees with little hours and poverty wages.
