100% service connected disabled veterans have lost their ability to earn a substantial income due to being injured while in service of our country. Current compensation rates and COLA adjustments are not enough to live on or support a family, especially when a spouse is unable to work in order to care for the veteran. While the caregiver program exist to help support and compensate caregivers for their work. The program has proven to be discriminatory and improperly implemented, leading to termination of services with no explanation or chance to appeal until recently.

If congress and senators received the same compensation as our most injured service members a few things will happen. 

Our most injured permanently disabled veterans that sacrifice so much would be able to adequately support their Family, due to congress immediately raising their own pay.

You would not have as many career politicians if they did not raise their own salaries. So less chance of corruption, and better candidates not in it for the money. And better represent their constituents.

Also it will keep politicians from becoming desensitized to the needs of the people. And more in tune to the true cost of living  and the poor quality of life veterans deal with due to rising cost of living expenses and lack of adequate compensation.
