The petition will be presented to Council at their regular meeting of January 16, 2024, in the “Motions” part of the meeting. Council will likely receive the petition. No decision or commitment will be made at that point in time as to the future of Concession 7. 

As M. Walker states, the administration is currently working on gathering data to provide an exhaustive report to Council that will outline a 5 to 10-year rehabilitation plan for the Township’s roads based on specific factors, such as year of construction, overall condition, road patrol visual inspections, road needs study, demography and average daily traffic counts, to name a few.

We anticipate that this report will be presented to Council in the summer/fall 2024, well before the 2025 budgetary discussions. Concession 7 will be evaluated against the above-mentioned predefined criteria, along with the Township’s 300 km of roads.
