Our petition is starting to gain local and national media attention! You may have seen that our cause was featured very favourably in The Times newspaper last weekend, and was also front page news in the East Lothian Courier.
Times Article on Musselburgh Deserves Better
This has been fantastic for our cause, and has already led to more organisations becoming aware of the issues and the threat that the council's flood scheme poses to accessing Musselburgh's green spaces, and the threat it also poses to animal, bird and aquatic life.
We've seen two local chapters of national organisations endorse our petition and circulate it to their members to sign.
Can you help keep the momentum up by finding 1 or 2 more people to sign our petition? With over 2000 signatures now, if we can all get 1 or 2 signatures it makes an amazing difference, and can generate more media coverage.
We've also launched a gofundme campaign to enable us to have funds, print leaflets and other basic costs of spreading the word and fighting to pause this scheme. We've already delivered over 2000 leaflets to homes in Musselburgh.
Thank you to all of you that have already contributed to our campaign, we are very grateful for your support. I also want to say thankyou to all our team of volunteers that are putting in the hours and doing great work making videos, designing leaflets, our website pausethefloodscheme.com as well as getting out there delivering leaflets or collecting signatures for our petition.
Please see if you can each get two more signatures to the petition this week to keep up our momentum.
Thank you
Musselburgh Deserves Better!
