The cost of living crisis is affecting us all but it's also affecting our pets and for some of them, it’s going to be a matter of life and death.

The boom in COVID puppies means there are thousands more puppies and young dogs and the cost-of-living increase is making things so much worse with people struggling to afford food, dog insurance and vets bills for their beloved pets. 

The rescues are full to bursting.  6/10 people recently surveyed said the cost-of-living crisis would prevent them from buying or rescuing a dog and we have already seen a 24% increase in pets being dumped this year.  

Dog breeding is big business so meanwhile more dogs are being brought into the world.

We are asking the Government to bring in emergency legislation to temporarily ban all puppy breeding for 2 years.  And we're asking breeders just to pause - not stop - any new litters to give rescues and all the dogs they are trying to save a fighting chance.
