Mayor Tom Tate's thin skin was revealed in the Gold Coast Bulletin. He targeted local Councillor for Palm Beach, Daphne MacDonald, for daring to organise a protest against the out of control development at Palm Beach.

"He said he believed that “through Daphne’s encouragement” a group of anti-high rise residents were told “well the mayor will be there, organise a protest against him”.

“Well mate, you’re a team member of the council. Don’t go and stir up people to come and smash me. If you do that, turn up as well and we will cop it together,” Cr Tate told the ABC."

Tate doesn't like it when the community pushes back.
