4th UPDATE ON St THOMAS SCHOOL PETITION 14th April 2016
It appears that Mrs Brindle has a calculated and malicious policy to eradicate any trace of Golborne St Thomas’ tradition and heritage that she is not the central figure. The Drama Group and St Thomas Playschool are prime examples. To fraudulently (see 2nd Update) get rid of the old, no matter how good it is, even when OFSTED rated St Thomas Playschool, Good; in order to bring in her own new nursery.
Throughout my involvement in this mess, I have been plagued by the question ‘why’ has she done all this damage to Golborne. The general consensus is that, because she could, she is a control freak, if your face doesn’t fit or she’s not in complete control the person or organization is out, no matter that people’s lives or life chances are destroyed. In Mrs Walker’s case it was she (Mrs Walker) had something that she (Mrs Brindle) wanted, namely the St Thomas Playschool business! Fraud fully facilitated?
On the supposition that her unreasonable behaviour was because she could: A Labour pamphlet ‘Golborne Lowton West Newsletter,’ was put though our letterboxes. By definition it is to communicate important local news, yet there is nothing about the fight to stop the destruction of the Golborne St Thomas Amateur Dramatic and Opera Society or of Mrs Brindle, arbitrarily, putting St Thomas Playschool out of business, ‘why?’ Throughout my 47 year career all my work related decisions and conduct had carried consequences. In Wigan Local Authority Mrs Brindle has a consequence free zone! Secrecy breeds corruption. Can we summarize where we are up to.
What kind of educator destroys a viable; much loved and strongly supported local Amateur Drama Group, a plebeian perhaps?
What kind of educator maliciously destroys a highly regarded nursery of longstanding with an OFSTED rating of good, making one less nursery in the village? The only conclusion I can think of is, corruption perhaps?
In order to destroy St Thomas Playschool, what kind of educator would callously ban the nursery toddlers (from two to five years of age) from using their safe Council constructed play area (a play area, incidentally, that was not in use for that year) and unnecessarily compel the toddlers to take fresh air breaks in local parks, making it necessary for the youngsters to cross roads, thereby putting the children at risk. Two comments to make, that putting a child at risk is a criminal offence, the Local Authority would prosecute a parent, but not it seems a Head Teacher can do it to fit a policy of lowering the OFSTED rating of the St Thomas Playschool nursery and suffer no consequences! Secondly, that the educator cannot possibly be interested in the children’s’ welfare! What kind of educator would inhumanely keep toddlers confined in a classroom that does not admit sunlight, while their own sunlit classroom is standing unoccupied? Again a person that has no interest or concern with the children’s welfare! What kind of educator puts a stop to children of all ages from taking advantage of participating in Drama and Opera, perhaps a person who does not understand the educational value of culture!
To address the Liverpool Dioceses contribution, through Dr Richardson, his first claim that he had a meeting with the PCC and the School Governors, the Rev; Reed and members of the PCC say no meeting ever took place and the PCC are perplexed that there has been no feedback from School Governor’s meetings. Secondly, that the Hall had never been the Parish Hall, I have proved through documentation, which I have released for open scrutiny, which is more than Dr Richardson has. Also, that there was an electricity meter in the Parish Hall from when it was first built and the electricity for the hall was paid for by the Drama Group until Mrs Brindle transferred it to the School budget. Also a lighting bar for the stage that had been in place for 32 years without ever being moved, Mrs Brindle says that the lighting bar has now ‘been disposed of’. What kind of a person disposes of something that is not theirs to dispose of? Thirdly, and most importantly, The Letting Agreement, I don’t know Diocesan procedure, but organizations I have been involved in need a proposition to be tabled, be proposed and seconded by named people, voted on and recorded for prosperity. The Letting Agreement does not fit any of these criterions or practice, if it exists at all it is a secret document, which should be submitted for scrutiny! Information gained from Freedom of Information Act. Fourthly, A letter read out at the Sunday morning service at St Thomas Church suggests that the Drama Group cancelled the pantomime, but it does not say that Mrs Brindle refused the Rev: John Reed a key to the building, intentionally, triggering the cancellation of the pantomime – against the wishes of Councillor Richard Barber, Chair of the School Governors, Mrs Tina Christmas Business Manager and the Rev: John Reed and I should think the Governing Body (see 3rd Update). Dr Richardson has for some reason known only to himself and Mrs Brindle has continued to discredit the Rev: Reed and the School Governors.
Mrs Brindle’s eradication policy has been relentless. Last year 2015 Mrs Brindle told the Drama Group Secretary that the pantomime could not take place as usual in the February half term due to the electricity and water being turned off for the building work, although it since come to light that the electricity and water were never turned off.
Mrs Walker has kindly pointed out that for safety reasons nursery children (2 to 5 years of age) and children (10 and 11 years of age) should be segregated and not mixed in a concrete playground. See Rainbows @ St Thomas leaflet, page 4 paragraph 2.
Update 5 we will concentrate on all the broken promises and the hurt done to people who have been unfortunate enough to cross Mrs Brindle’s path.
