On Wednesday I was on the ferry from Wong Shek Pier to Tap Mun to continue my work on the surfboard shaping room. My mother was with me as she is currently helping me with the painting while she visits from Canada. Normally I sit outside at the back of the ferry which I did again that day. Also sharing the 1030 ferry with us that day was a group of three to four workers all wearing the same matching yellow uniform going to Lai Chi Chong along with a whack of cement and other materials. When we arrived to Tap Mun and got off the ferry my mother told me how one of the workers had prepared himself quite a meal. Upon finishing his meal the worker packed up all his waste together neatly into a plastic bag. He tied the bag up tightly and threw the bag off the side of the boat into the ocean. There’s a large rubbish bin right there in the ferry cabin. Who says we don’t need education of marine waste? Who says that marine waste is not important to conservation?
