Last week I had the awesome chance to give a short presentation and discussion with a group of grade 5's in Hong Kong. It was great to talk to all those young minds and hear their feedback on marine waste and what they think we should be doing about it. As their generation grows, I know the movement to clean up our act is only going to become stronger. If anyone else is interested in me dropping in to talk at their school or organisation, please let me know! You can email me directly at hello@makarasurf.com.
In other news.....as you know, I also published a video for our cause to Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPVCdL6wmSs) and Facebook. That also happened to be my first ever video posting. Wooo wee and I did get the hiccups with it! I didn’t know Youtube would auto generate English subtitles into videos. That’s great, but the problem is it was full of spelling and grammar errors! So, I had to quickly turn that off after being woken up by messages to my phone informing me about the problem.
I also made the mistake of just copying and pasting the Youtube video link into the Makara Facebook page and so it only appeared as a link. Instead, I was hoping for that cool auto-play posting. Little did I know you have to upload the video directly into Facebook to make a video auto-play on news feeds. Lesson learned!
Anyway, there is an auto-playing video on the Makara Facebook page now that is great for sharing. You can see it at https://www.facebook.com/makarasurf/videos/1046618145447179/. Please use it to share and drive support for the cause! In the mean-time, I will continue to think of other strategies we can utilise to get the message out to support education for change.
We all created this mess on our planet. So, we all need to work together to clean it up. We all owe it to the world.
Thanks!
