I've been seeing some confusion and even criticism about the purpose behind Tiny's Bill. I want to be very clear about what the bill stands for - and what it doesn't. Please take a moment to read this full message:

"Why Tiny's Bill Matters"

I need to clear something up.

I'm not doing this because I hate cops. I'm doing this because I love my service dog, I value disabled lives, and I believe training saves everyone - including officers.

Tiny's Bill is not anti-police. It's pro-accountability. It's pro-disability rights. And it's LONG overdue.

The ADA was passed in 1990 - and not much has been added to protect service dog teams since. We have laws saying service animals are protected, but almost no enforcement, no clear training standards, and no federal guidelines for how law enforcement and emergency responders should interact with them during high-stress situations.

Tiny's Bill is designed to:

  • Require ADA-focused training for law enforcement, 911 dispatchers, and first responders
  • Provide legal protections when a service animal is harmed or separated from it's disabled handler
  • Offer a voluntary 911 registry for service dog teams with specific accessibility needs
  • Finally create civil recourse for disabled people who are mistreated in emergencies

My service dog Tiny was ripped from me during a police encounter while I was begging for her to stay for my medical safety. I still live with that trauma. But this is bigger than me. It's about making sure this never happens to someone else.

If you support training, safety, disability rights, and responsible policing - then you support Tiny's Bill.
