Don't let Trayvon Martin's death be for nothing. No father or mother should have their son needlessly killed and taken away from them due to racial profiling or for ANY reason, only to have the court system exonerate their child's killer because of a legal technicality.

This law would make it illegal for private citizens like George Zimmerman to confront or attack crime suspects UNLESS the suspects are in the act of committing a VIOLENT crime. This law will prevent criminal defendants like George Zimmerman from using self-defense as a legal argument in criminal cases where the defendant has recklessly engaged his or her victim(s). It would also deter private citizens like George Zimmerman from unnecessarily putting themselves, criminal suspects, and potentially law enforcement officials, in harms way.
