First I want to say, Thank you for supporting my petition I started in honor of my son Henry.  I’m asking you to please continue to share my sons petition. The Red Flag laws/Extreme Risk Protection orders are known to be an effective measure to safeguard our communities and save lives when properly reported. Now If doctors, nurses, teachers, mental health professionals, child care providers, social workers,  and law enforcement officers are all considered mandatory reporters, then we should hold most citizens as mandated reporters to also protect our communities and children. A few years ago the New York Police Department (NYPD) made headlines for taking nine handguns from four active duty police officers After a domestic situation involving the officers spilled over into the workplace, the NYPD seized the guns under a section of the Patrol Guide that permits impounding firearms in “non-disciplinary cases,” including those involving “stress as a result of family or other situations.” NYPD saw red flags that the situation concerning these officers could potentially go sideways and preemptively decided to act to minimize the damage. We should do something when it comes down to saving innocent lives.  I’m going to continue my fight for the Red Flag Law that needs to be in Wisconsin. Sincerely,  Henry’s Mother
