As if this situation already doesn’t suck, it is now being reported that the city is using $100k to do this unfair conversion. We previously read that it was a $30k conversion.
Is pickleball really worth this much money?
When they can already play pickleball on the tennis court?
Read the story that came out in the Chino Hills Champion: it will be linked below.
After reading this story, it honestly made me even more upset about this whole situation.
Not only did the city do this without even thinking about the tennis community, but using $100k is a very questionable move on their part.
I am not a huge fan of this story either, because everything that the pickleball person said makes no sense. We still don’t have access to any high school tennis courts & the pickleball people taping lines on our tennis court does not mean we should have known about this conversion. That is beyond illogical.
Please continue to e-mail city council members, the mayor & vice mayor. Call them as well. Let them know how you feel about everything!
Thank you all for your continued support, tennis community! Our voice matters, even though the city thinks it doesn’t.
