The current state of requirements for CCSD concerning masks are as followed:

Students: Face covering strongly encouraged unless 6 feet of physical distancing can be maintained, or mitigating circumstances preclude use.
Teachers/Staff: Face covering strongly encouraged unless 6 feet of physical distancing can be maintained, or mitigating circumstances preclude use.

We understand that health concerns are vital for our students as full time schooling is the best option for them.

This petition wants to change the word "encourage" in the above CCSD rule to "required" with exception to health concerns to students that cannot wear masks for medical reasons.

While children are less likely to contract COVID 19, it does not make them any less of a carrier for your family or the CCSD community.

Currently, there will still be larger class sizes that 10 students. Currently there is no middle ground option for children below 6th grade. If there is only two options between homeschool and full time - we must make sure our students are at the safest they can be.
