On July 14th, the Catholic Diocese of BR sent out a letter of 'requirements' for children returning for the 2021/2022 school year. The letter is from the Diocese of Baton Rouge and being distributed by the individual schools in the diocese to parents. The purpose of the letter is to lay ground rules for 'vaccinated' versus 'non-vaccinated' children which include among other things, a) requiring proof of vaccination, b) baseless mask mandates that the State of Louisiana had previously lifted, c) in-class/activity separation of children based on vaccinated vs non-vaccinated and more. 

The purpose of this petition is to voice our opinion as parents that this decision by the Diocese to institute measures that are not only scientifically baseless but will cause extreme mental health issues for our children when they begin to be 'separated' on campus from their peers and in some cases from their teachers based on whether or not they received or didn't receive a non-FDA approved vaccine for something that rarely affected children under 16 years of age to begin with. We as parents must take a stand and let the Diocese know that this plan is totally unacceptable in any form.
