Masks Optional for Hall County Schools

The Issue

Thursday, April 8, 2021, Governor Kemp removed major Covid-related restrictions.  Restaurants, stores, gyms and other social gatherings have been extremely grateful and are already experiencing the benefits of regaining part of their freedom back.

As concerned parents of Hall County, we would like to address the fear that certain regulations, specifically masks, could continue into the 2021-2022 school year.

With mandates being lifted, vaccinations rolling out, case numbers being the lowest they’ve been in months, and herd immunity being reached, we believe it is time for masks to be OPTIONAL.

More importantly, in the most recent study released by Stanford University just a few days ago, it is stated that not only are masks ineffective, but could also be causing long-term health problems, citing that "both medical and non-medical facemasks are ineffective to reduce human-to-human transmission and infectivity of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19." The article continues to detail that "wearing facemasks has adverse physiological and psychological effects and long-term consequences of wearing facemasks on health are detrimental."

With other studies showing the increase of depression, suicide, anxiety, chronic headaches, and a decline in cognitive performance, we cannot wait any longer. Our kids are suffering,

Many surrounding counties (and most all private schools) have seen the emotional, mental and physical benefits of having MASKS OPTIONAL.  Breathing oxygen, overall physical and mental health, exchanging smiles and engaging socially with their friends, peers, teachers and administrators, are just a few of the reasons why other schools are allowing masks to be OPTIONAL. Hall County Schools, however, are still forcing every student to wear a mask.

Fortunately, we are starting to see other counties take action as well!!  We applaud you, as we are in this together!  Our kids NEED us.

Please SIGN this petition in SUPPORT of Hall Co. making masks OPTIONAL!

THANK YOU!!
