Governor Pritzker,

We are writing in support of Keshia Golden and ask that you issue her a pardon. On August 24, 2026 Keshia Golden accepted a plea deal to involuntary manslaughter with 2 years probation. Keshia has publicly shared that she accepted this deal so she could avoid jail time and be home to watch her young daughter, KyLiyah grow up. Keshia Golden was initially overcharged with first degree murder and pressured into a plea bargain which now leaves her a convicted felon. Survival should not be punished. We call on you to right this injustice. Keshia and her daughter deserve to be able to move forward without the weight of this conviction. We ask you to do what only you have the power to do: Pardon Keshia Golden. 

About Keshia Golden’s Case: Keshia Golden is a Black mom and survivor out of Chicago who in October of 2022, while 8 months pregnant fatally stabbed her abuser as he violently attacked her in her own home. Keshia had previously called the police around 50 times, even securing a protection order against him.
