In 1985, the movie 'Clue' was released in theaters by Paramount Pictures.  The movie was written and directed by Jonathan Lynn and stars Eileen Brennan as Mrs. Peacock, Tim Curry as Wadsworth the butler, Madeline Kahn as Mrs. White, Christopher Lloyd as Professor Plum, Michael McKean as Mr. Green, Martin Mull as Colonel Mustard, Lesley Ann Warren as Miss Scarlet, and Lee Ving as Mr. Boddy.  The film had one of three different endings when it was released in movie theaters and the film's home video release on VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray, etc., included all three endings.  Although the film did not do well at the box office, it has since gained a cult following in the years since.

However, 'Clue' also had a planned fourth ending that was filmed, where it is revealed Wadsworth the butler was the murderer of Mr. Boddy and all the guests and planned to kill all of the main characters with poison in their drinks.  Wadsworth would have been caught by the Chief of Police posing as an evangelist, where the film's novelization shows a photo of the Chief punching Wadsworth in the stomach.  Wadsworth would have tried to re-create the events of the evening how he committed the murders to the police, only to slip out the door and lock the guests and police inside.  The police break the windows to the Conservatory and take the guests out to go to the hospital, while Wadsworth tries to get away in a police car only to discover three dogs in the back seat with him.  The film was rejected by Paramount as being "too dark" and the fourth ending has remain shelved ever since.

With the recent passing of Tim Curry in August 2026, we, the fans, would like to see a new edition of 'Clue' released on 4K, on Blu-Ray and on DVD with the fourth ending included and a brand new featurette included dedicated in memory to the film's co-star Tim Curry.
