My Story

I grew up on Star Trek.

Some of my happiest childhood memories are of spending the night at my grandmother's house. We'd make popcorn, settle in together, and watch Voyager.

At the time, I thought we were just watching great science fiction.

Looking back, I realize Star Trek was quietly teaching me how to be a better human being.

It taught me that people who are different from us deserve understanding—not fear.

That every culture has something worth learning.

That asking questions is better than making assumptions.

That diplomacy is stronger than violence.

That intelligence without compassion is incomplete.

That our differences are not weaknesses—they are our greatest strength.

Those evenings with my grandmother became some of the most meaningful memories of my childhood.

Today, whenever I watch Star Trek, I don't just remember the stories.

I remember her.

I remember feeling hopeful about the future.

And I know millions of fans have stories just like mine.

Why This Matters

For countless people around the world, Star Trek has been a source of comfort during grief, illness, loneliness, uncertainty, and hardship.

It has inspired children to become scientists, astronauts, engineers, doctors, teachers, and explorers.

Parents have introduced it to their children because they wanted to pass on more than entertainment.

Why We're Asking Paramount

For many years, Netflix made Star Trek easy to discover.

A teenager could stumble across an episode and become a lifelong fan.

A parent could introduce their children to Captain Picard, Captain Janeway, Benjamin Sisko, or Captain Kirk without asking them to subscribe to yet another streaming service.

Families already paying for Netflix could continue sharing those experiences together.

Today, much of Star Trek is available exclusively through Paramount+.

We fully recognize that Paramount owns Star Trek and has every legal right to decide how it is distributed.

This petition is not asking Paramount to give away its content or abandon Paramount+.

Instead, we respectfully ask Paramount to embrace broader licensing by making Star Trek available on Netflix alongside Paramount+, rather than limiting access through streaming exclusivity.

Why Broader Access Benefits Everyone

Making Star Trek available on multiple streaming platforms would:

Allow millions of existing fans to continue watching on a service they already subscribe to.
Introduce entirely new generations to one of the most optimistic stories ever created.
Expand the Star Trek community instead of dividing it across subscription barriers.
Increase the franchise's cultural impact while still allowing Paramount to earn revenue through both Paramount+ and licensing agreements.
This isn't about taking something away from Paramount.

It's about allowing Star Trek's message to reach as many people as possible.

Because its message matters.

Perhaps now more than ever.

The World Needs Star Trek

We live in a time when anger spreads faster than understanding.
