Overseas-qualified Pharmacists should be allowed to do pre reg without the need of OSPAP

The Issue

OSPAP is a mandatory training course to start working as a UK registered pharmacist. The course is done at a university which is expensive as an international student and has a limited intake of students which can only be applied to once a year. International Doctors only have exams and no course at a university. The doctors can take their exams up to 4 times a year, allowing them more flexibility. We, as overseas-qualified pharmacists strongly want only a pre-reg year training and then an exam to start working as a pharmacist in the UK, especially when there is a pharmacist and university shortage.
