Our Students Deserve Better: Demand Adequate Educational Support Now

The Issue

We, the undersigned students, parents, educators, and community members, are calling for urgent action to address the serious and ongoing lack of educational support in our schools.

Every day, students are expected to perform, progress, and succeed—yet the systems meant to support them are failing. The following problems are harming students’ learning, well-being, and future opportunities:

Key Problems That Must Be Addressed
Overcrowded Classrooms
Class sizes are too large for effective teaching and individualized attention. Many students fall behind simply because there is not enough time or support for their needs.
Insufficient Learning Support
Students who struggle academically often lack access to tutoring, intervention programs, or learning support staff, leaving them to cope alone.
Lack of Mental Health Resources
Schools do not have enough counselors, psychologists, or mental health professionals to support students dealing with stress, anxiety, trauma, and burnout.
Inadequate Special Education Services
Students with learning differences and disabilities face long delays, limited accommodations, or no support at all, violating their right to equal education.
Underfunded Schools and Outdated Resources
Many classrooms rely on outdated textbooks, limited technology, and insufficient learning materials, putting students at a disadvantage.
Overworked and Under-supported Teachers
Educators are expected to meet increasing demands without adequate staffing, training, or support, leading to burnout and reduced quality of education.
Educational Inequality
Students from low-income or marginalized communities are disproportionately affected, widening achievement gaps and limiting future opportunities.

Our Demands
To address these problems, we demand immediate and measurable action, including:

Reduced class sizes to allow meaningful student support
Increased funding for tutoring, intervention, and learning programs
Expanded access to mental health and counseling services
Full and timely special education assessments and accommodations
Investment in updated learning materials and classroom resources
Better support, training, and retention of educators
Education should empower students—not overwhelm them. Ignoring these problems places students’ futures at risk and weakens our communities.

We demand accountability.
We demand action.
Our students deserve better—and they deserve it now.
