Over 8 million tonnes of plastic waste makes its way to the sea every year. At this rate, there will be more plastic in our oceans than fish by the year 2050. This represents an unprecedented threat to our future, marine life, ecosystem, and our way of life. Our addiction to plastic has given rise to islands of plastic, so vast, they are visible from space. This horrifying picture is just the tip of the iceberg. It gets worse, microplastics or broken down pieces of plastic float just beneath the surface, and are almost impossible to retrieve, and finally end up in our bodies, with long-term consequences.  

We are in dire straits, and time is running out. The world needs to be bombarded with awareness like we have blitzed our seas with plastic. We need to tell every living soul on earth, that plastic is dangerous if not disposed of responsibly and carefully. 

WARNING LABELS THAT READ: PLASTIC IS DESTROYING OUR WORLD. PLEASE RECYCLE THIS BOTTLE RESPONSIBLY. 

Every product in the world deemed dangerous for human consumption carries a  warning label on it. Cigarette packaging for instance clearly displays graphic images of the consequences of smoking, domestic chemicals like drain cleaners, etc, carry warnings.

Plastic waste is the biggest threat to our world right now, so why don't plastic products, packaging, wrapping, bottles come with a label that creates awareness and motivates people to recycle responsibly? 

Huge corporate entities spend millions on greenwashing us when they can spend this money to clean up our oceans. They use our screens to fool us into thinking they care, but this couldn't be further from the truth. The time has come we made them think about something bigger than their balance sheets. It's time we held them responsible and force their hand into actually generating awareness. A plastic bottle is a medium of mass communication that can be used to create awareness on an unprecedented scale. Let's push our leaders to make sure plastic products are labeled with a warning. Let's make sure people see what plastic is doing to our world every time they consume it.

These labels will show people what plastic is doing to our planet every single time they use plastic products. Even if 10% of the world looks at these labels, and decides to act and recycle responsibly it will make a huge difference to the future of all life on earth.
