What is the Para-sports Draft? The AIS and Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) are joining forces to hold a Para-sports Draft. This inaugural initiative provides a new entry point for individuals aged between 15 and 30 who have cerebral palsy and other neurological-type impairments such as multiple sclerosis or an acquired brain injury. Individuals who are up for a challenge or keen to try something new have the opportunity to be recruited into the targeted sports of para-athletics, para-cycling and para-swimming — all sports with significant medal potential. The draft will also focus on para-canoe, para-rowing, para-triathlon, para-table tennis, para-boccia, para-alpine and para-snowboarding. Successful athletes will have a 12-month training opportunity with a targeted coach, as well as guidance provided by the AIS and APC to kick-start their sporting career. We’d love to hear from you, even if you have never played sport! The Paraoos get left behind one again
