Our local koalas and wildlife are in danger - Proposal against developemt at 48 Gutt rd.

The issue

As you may be aware, there has been an application lodged to develop the green space at 48 Gutt rd. Their application is to sub divide the 89 acres of private bushland into 57 lots. This affects not only the people who directly back onto this property, but the abundance of australian wildlife that live in the space also.

The clearing of trees required for this develolment to allow for site access for trucks, followed by construction noise would be devastating to the native wildlife that reside in this last patch of green, as it will destroy not only their homes, but the food source of many animals as well. The wildlife includes but is not limited to: koalas, kangaroos, sugar gliders, opossums and countless bird species such as our kookaburra, black cockatoos, lorikeets, wild cockatiels, yellow faced lorikeets and so many more.

Many of these animals are on the endangered species lists.  We need to save as many of these greenspaces as we can while they are still here before these animals we love so much become extinct.

Many of you probably remember that feeling when you moved here and saw a koala in your own backyard for the first time, the sound of kookaburra in the morning, did you see the black cockatoos? or the sugar gliders at night?

We had those privileges because we have this green space here for them.

Locals would be aware there are plenty of areas that can be developed here without encroaching on the green spaces.

please sign the petition to keep the greenspace so we can continue to enjoy our native wildlife for future generations.
