As many of you know, Cheer Sport Sharks New England, an all-star cheer program for hundreds of athletes in Weymouth. MA was forced to shut its doors due to a Covid-19 outbreak. At the first sign of infection, and before the BOH got involved, the gym owner communicated this to the entire program and shut down on her own. Since that day, the program and participating athletes have been ridiculed by members of our own community, competing businesses, have been plastered on the media and now have been given a cease and desist  notice by the town of Weymouth. We are asking that the Weymouth BOH reach out to the gym owner and work out a reopening plan in private. There are hundreds of athletes patiently (or not so patiently) waiting to get back to their second home. This is more than a gym to our children- it’s been a piece of normalcy in this Pandemic, and although the owner and staff did everything they could to keep Covid out (temp checks, masks, hand washing, covid policy reminder and updates as well as sanitizer upon entry and exit), it snuck in. It’s the nature of the beast. We want our gym back. Please support our gym (this small business) and sign this petition.
