Preserve Our Laneway Character - Save Laz's Lane
Help save Laz’s Lane
We love Carnegie’s unique public art and garden laneways. We need your help to preserve the ambience, artwork and garden in Laz’s Lane.
The proposed large commercial development of 187 Koornang Rd with imposing signage, will heavily impact Graceburn Ave and Laz’s Lane community art gallery and gardens.
Art and garden will be removed in Laz's Lane and Graceburn Avenue. A stone wall erected and 2 metre commercial signage installed.
We object to this. It is not in keeping with our neighbourhood nor laneway character. The enchanting, peaceful ambience of our public gallery and garden destroyed. 25 community members will have their individual art removed, plus a collaboration mural painted by 70+ community members.
Laz's Lane is a beacon of neighbourhood engagement and connection, curated by volunteers for their community to contribute to, and interact in a non-political, non-commercial, beautiful and serene environment.
Please help us save our special community space, retain the unique and magic ambience, and cherish these wonderful initiatives lead by volunteers for community engagement, access, pride and growth.
Act now by signing, commenting and sharing.
We must submit our impact statement by 14 September.
This petition will be included with our impact statement to Council.
