The Issue

As a former student of Bonaventure Meadows Public School, I am writing this petition inspired by a deep sense of loss. I feel like I have been robbed of my childhood, as though an integral part of me is missing. This feeling stems from the fact that our beloved school time capsule, which bears fragments of our shared history and personal memories, has been taken from us.

Our time capsule, a repository of nostalgia and cherishable memories from our public school in London, Ontario, has been abruptly removed. This capsule served as a symbol of our collective past, shaped by the joys, triumphs, and even trials of our formative years. Its removal is a desecration of our shared history.

Universities Canada statistics show that individuals attach considerable emotional importance to symbols from their past, often drawing motivation and grounding from these when faced with future challenges. In essence, the time capsule is more than a box of past items; it is a tangible link to our past, affecting our sense of self-identity and continuity.

We call on the relevant individuals to ensure the return of our school time capsule. For the sake of an entire generation's childhood and memories, bring back our time capsule. Lend your voice to this cause and sign this petition today.
