On Tuesday, June 15th the Ottawa Police Service announced an Animal Cruelty Investigation after 4 cats were found dead showing signs of abuse.

On June 18th they established a Tip-Line.

On June 24th they concluded their investigation based on the results of a Necropsy performed by the University of Guelph Animal Health Laboratory in Kemptville and determined it was likely a coyote at fault for the deaths. 

These cats were not killed by a coyote. These cats were tortured and murdered. Their bodies were found mutilated. The cuts found on their bodies were clean, their organs were removed and they were skinned. 

The initial deaths occurred in the Hunt Club area and there has since been a discovering in the Stittsville area as recent as June 19th. It appears they are relocating after the news reported between June 15-18th.

My heart aches knowing that 7 cats had their lives taken. 

The OPS needs to reopen their investigation before they take more lives.
