**EXTEND LAKEVIEW PARK HOURS NOW**

It is time that Lakeview Park is open later than 6 pm during the winter season. I have sent the following motion to the City Clerk for consideration by City Council.

" That the Parks Bylaw be amended to allow for Lakeview Park to be open to the public until 12 midnight nightly, regardless of the season"

I have also sent a copy of the motion to all members of the Council asking for their support.

Our "Crown Jewel" park is unique as it allows area residents to enjoy the Lake Ontario Shoreline in a manner that many people support.

I am urging you to write an email to the City Council to ask that they support this motion and amend the bylaw. While "Likes on FB" show support, most members of Council do not follow Facebook so we need you to send emails before Monday's Council meeting.,-

Attention Oshawa City Council

We  feel that the hours to enjoy Lakeview Park need to be extended to at least midnight 7days a week during all seasons, As many of us enjoy the park/beach and seek it for our mental health.
Closing it at 6:00pm is unfair and detrimental to our mental health, studies have shown the sound of the waves and the fresh air allows us to unwind and release stress. 

We are asking Council for the Park Bylaw to be changed to allow us to enjoy our park in the evening during any time of year.
