Orland Park Prayer Center Community Chat

Dr. Muhammad Krad and Malik Ali, the two individuals controlling the leadership and major decisions of The Prayer Center of Orland Park, must be held accountable to the congregation they are entrusted to serve.

Community members have raised serious concerns about the concentration of decision-making authority in their hands, the lack of meaningful consultation, and the absence of transparency surrounding the removal of our religious and educational leaders.

A masjid cannot be governed behind closed doors, without transparency, consultation, or accountability to the community it serves. Leadership is an amanah, not an entitlement to unchecked authority.

Yet, over the past year, our community has witnessed the removal of three prominent religious and educational leader.

Sh. Kifah Mustapha — Imam and Director
Ustadh Ahmad El Moustafa — Youth Director
Sh. Haitham Alzamareeh — Imam, who led his final prayer at the masjid on October 8, 2026
Three leaders removed. No clear public explanation. No meaningful transparency. No accountability to the congregation.

Also the dismissal and departure of several dedicated staff members, youth leaders, and young men and women who have contributed their time and efforts to serving our masjid. These departures have shaken our community and raised serious concerns about the decisions being made behind closed doors.

The congregation has been left asking questions that deserve answers:

What roles did Dr. Muhammad Krad and Malik Ali play in these removals? Who authorized these decisions? On what grounds were our religious and educational leaders removed? Why has the community been kept uninformed? And what measures are being taken to protect the future of our masjid?

The people who attend this masjid, volunteer their time, donate their money, entrust their children to its programs, and dedicate themselves to its growth should not be excluded from conversations about its future.

Our masjid was built upon Islamic principles of justice, consultation (shura), trust (amanah), and accountability. These principles must be reflected in the way our institution is governed.

A masjid is an amanah, not the private possession of any individual or group.

Our Demands
We, the undersigned members and supporters of The Prayer Center of Orland Park, call upon Dr. Muhammad Krad, Malik Ali, and the Board of Directors and Trustees to take the following actions:

 1. Hold an immediate, open, and independently moderated community meeting.

We call upon Dr. Muhammad Krad, Malik Ali, and the Board of Directors and Trustees to meet openly with the congregation in a transparent, structured setting to address concerns surrounding recent religious leadership and staff departures, governance practices, and the future of The Prayer Center of Orland Park.

The meeting should be facilitated by a mutually acceptable independent moderator, allow community members to submit questions and voice their concerns, and result in documented responses, clear action items, and a timeline for addressing unresolved issues.

2. Provide transparency regarding the departures of our religious and educational leaders.

The community deserves a clear explanation of the decision-making processes surrounding the departures and dismissals of our religious and educational leaders, youth leaders, and staff members.

3. Disclose the masjid's governance structure.

The congregation deserves access to the organization's governing bylaws, an explanation of how board members and trustees are appointed or selected, clarification of their respective powers and responsibilities, and information about the mechanisms available to hold leadership accountable.

4. Establish independent oversight and meaningful community representation.

We call for an independent review of the masjid's governance practices and the establishment of transparent accountability mechanisms that provide the congregation with a meaningful voice in decisions affecting its religious institution.

5. Provide a formal written response by October 23, 2026.

We request that Dr. Muhammad Krad, Malik Ali, and the Board of Directors and Trustees publicly acknowledge this petition and provide a formal written response addressing the concerns and demands outlined above by Friday, October 23, 2026.

Our Message to the Board
Leadership is a responsibility, not an entitlement. Authority does not eliminate accountability.

The Prayer Center of Orland Park belongs to the community.

We are not demanding division. We are demanding answers.

We are not seeking the destruction of our institution. We are seeking its protection.

The community has remained patient. That patience should not be mistaken for indifference.

We call upon Dr. Muhammad Krad, Malik Ali, and the Board of Directors and Trustees to honor the trust placed in them, address the congregation's concerns, and engage in meaningful dialogue.

Our Masjid. Our Community. Our Right to Answers.

By signing this petition, you are calling for transparency, accountability, meaningful community representation, and an open meeting between the congregation and the leadership of The Prayer Center of Orland Park.
