As the class of '28 and '29 know, we are being forced to stay on the all-access meal plan for all four years at Davidson. This meal plan has been asserted to fix "food insecurity" issues, but instead perpetuates a whole host of other issues. We are not learning to cook for ourselves, budget, grocery shop, or learn how to manage when and where we eat as we will need to once leaving campus. Kitchen access in a senior apartment is now an unnecessary expense, and we will continue to pay $40 a day for food through senior year. I'm writing this petition to ask Davidson to let the class of '28 and '29 opt-out of the all-access meal plan for at least our senior year, if not additionally junior and sophomore years. No one is happy with this meal plan, and changes need to be made!
