Popeye's is seeking a variance for a drive-thru and parking in conjunction with the new location they are trying to build on the corner of Long Beach rd and Henrietta Ave. This is already a heavily congested intersection and an additional burden will create a dangerous situation. This route is also walked by many local school children and families attending houses of worship in the area. The proposed plans do not contain enough parking, forcing the overflow to utilize Henrietta Avenue thus turning a residential street into commercial use. Additionally there is also a bus stop at this curb. 

The property requires 27 parking spaces of which the proposed plans only have space for 8. Which means they are looking for a variance for 19 spaces. 

The lack of cueing space for proposed drive-thru would force a line of waiting vehicles onto Henrietta avenue preventing traffic from approaching the traffic light and instead backing up down the street. 

These cars in the drive-thru line would also be idling for long periods of time up against the property line of the neighboring houses causing additional noise and air pollution until after midnight. 

This plan is not in the best interest of the community. 

The hearing will take place on June 26th, 2024 at 2pm. We would like to bring as many signatures opposing this as possible.
