1) Hiawatha Lane. On January 8, Westport Planning and Zoning will review an application to extend sewer service to a proposed 186 unit development on Hiawatha Lane. The meeting will be at Westport Town Hall at 7:00 PM. We encourage you to attend this meeting and to speak in opposition. We cannot permit 8-30g to be abused by developers to break Westport’s zoning laws. 2) On January 20, Westport RTM (Representative Town Meeting) will host an information meeting concerning the affordable housing projects which have been proposed in Westport. Westport United will make a presentation at this meeting concerning the proposed redevelopment of the Westport Inn. The meeting will be on January 20 at 7:00 PM, in the Westport Town Hall auditorium. 3) Westport Inn. On January 21, the Westport Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing concerning the proposed redevelopment of the Westport Inn. We urge you to attend this meeting, which will be on January 21 at 7:00 PM in the Westport Town Hall auditorium. Please attend the meeting and be prepared to speak in opposition of the Westport Inn redevelopment. Developers are abusing the 8-30g statute to break Westport’s zoning laws, often with no intention of building any affordable housing units.
