Parents For Thoughtful City PlanningVancouver, Canada
Feb 10, 2022

Friends,

We are gathering momentum, nearing 1,000 key signatures and gaining supporters from all corners of Vancouver but we need more. We need more letters to Council sharing our discomfort with this attempt to build another UN-supported, failed model into our family neighbourhood of Kitsilano.

Key arguments as outlined are:

- Lack of clinical support within the housing model

- Non-existent clinical support within the community for mental health and addictions

- The model excludes the growing population of women-led families who find themselves facing night after night without safe and recovery oriented housing options in Vancouver. Services for women and women-led families facing homelessness, fleeing violence and left with only precarious, dangerous options for housing for them and their children can be SOLVED if Council would direct the project to do so. This composition would not only then house Vancouvers MOST vulnerable population, but would help prevent the next generation from staying entrenched in the cycle of poverty, addiction, violence and homelessness.

Please share our petition with your friends, families and other concerned citizens, groups and entities that need to see it.

Best for the weekend ahead!
