Torrance residents,
City elections are here with 3 voting centers in Torrance. They are open from May 23 to June 2 and located at:
1) Mary K. Giordano Transit Center (485 Crenshaw Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503)
2) Herma Tillim Senior Center (3612 Artesia Blvd, Torrance, CA 90504)
3) Walteria Park Meeting Room (3855 W 242nd St, Torrance, CA 90505)
It is essential that our city continues to have leadership that prioritizes our public safety and community input. Based on accomplishments, track record, and their commitment to our community, we ask you to vote for:
1) For Torrance Mayor: Re-elect Mayor George Chen
Mayor Chen has displayed a deep commitment to public service in his work with us, advocating for our cause before the Torrance City Council and the County Board of Supervisors. He attended our protests and met with us regularly to fight for Torrance residents. Mayor Chen must win re-election to keep our city safe for the next four years.
2) For Torrance City Council District 3: Fmr. Councilmember Mike Mauno
Mauno led the charge against Homekey+ last year. With his expertise, C.A.R.E. Torrance published the report which led to the withdrawal of the County's project. Torrance residents deserve to be represented by someone with the knowledge and skillset of Mike Mauno.
3) For Torrance City Treasurer: Councilmember Aurelio Mattucci
For 8 years on the Torrance City Council, Councilmember Mattucci has been an advocate for a cleaner and safer Torrance. He proposed Torrance's current initiative to reduce homelessness in our city and advocated with us against Homekey+. Through his experience, accomplishments, and commitment, Councilmember Mattucci has displayed that he is the best person for the job.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that every resident of Torrance votes this cycle. Past elections in our city have been determined by less than 20 votes. Both Mayor Chen and Mauno's opponents have been endorsed by the same county officials who pushed forward the Homekey+ project last year. Torrance needs responsible, common-sense leaders to ensure our city remains a strong and safe community for families, seniors, and all residents. The last day to vote is JUNE 2. Early voting has already started.
Thank you,
Team C.A.R.E. Torrance
