The Upper Canada, District School Board is proposing flipping the school start and end times for Elementary and High School students, with the earlier bell time leading to the Elementary school day concluding at 2:30 pm. This proposed adjustment poses challenges for a significant number, if not all, of working parents who will have to depend on before and aftercare services. Given the scarcity of such services in Leeds and Grenville and Lanark County, this proposal is anticipated to add further strain to families grappling with aligning work schedules and their children's education.

As taxpayers and stakeholders in our children's education, we believe it is crucial for our voices to be heard on this matter. We urge the board to reconsider this decision by taking into account the disruption it will cause for many families and students' routines.
