Between April 13th and April 14th, Olean Intermediate Middle School dress coded 40+ girls for their shorts on an 80 degree day. OIMS has no air conditioning system in place. Girls in grades 4-7 were made to line up against a wall with their backs facing the staff. These girls were publicly shamed and humiliated in front of their peers for their dressing attire. These innocent girls' bodies were sexualized by adults and these same adults will not let them have a voice. The OHS Z-Club says enough is enough. This behavior is unacceptable and disgusting. We are advocating for a change in the dress code that would make our schools a safe and equitable environment to learn.
