Oppose the North End Prairie Housing Development at Block 13 E M Street
Oppose the North End Prairie Housing Development at Block 13 E M Street
The Issue
Protect Our Neighborhood – Oppose the North End Prairie Development
We, the residents of Bastrop, believe in responsible growth that respects our community, protects existing homeowners, and prioritizes transparency. The proposed North End Prairie development—a 42-home subdivision on just 4 acres—raises serious concerns about overcrowding, lack of infrastructure, and conflicts of interest.
🔹 No clear parking plan – Overflow parking will spill onto Pecan and Hill Streets, impacting current residents.
🔹 No approved drainage system – Our neighborhood flooded in 2016, and this development increases the risk of repeated flooding.
🔹 Lack of transparency – Nearby homeowners were not properly notified until days before the city council meeting.
🔹 Conflicts of interest – The landowner is directly connected to a sitting council member, raising concerns about fairness in the approval process.
We urge the City of Bastrop to halt this development until these issues are addressed. If this can happen here, it can happen anywhere in our city. Make your voice heard—sign the petition today!
