Oppose Tamarack Lodge Expansion

Oppose Tamarack Lodge Expansion
The Issue
We the undersigned, oppose the proposed expansion by Wuerfel Resorts to Tamarack Lodge.
As longstanding owners, we hold a vested interest in the property. We hereby demand that all expansion plans be halted and that our concerns be fully considered. Failure to do so will result in detriment to over 200 Tamarack owners, thereby denying us the reasonable expectation we had when purchasing our condominium(s) of having adequate parking.
Among our many concerns, the parking needs for vacationing guests, residents, event guests, and employees must be immediately considered. Township ordinance states that for a “motel, hotel, or tourist home” the number of parking spaces required is “one for each sleeping unit, plus one for each one employee during the largest shift”.
The fact that Wuerfel Resorts has planned this project with complete and reckless disregard for our rights and the basic, fundamental consideration and courtesy to plan and provide reserved parking, allowing elderly owners to park in front of or at least close to their own residence, is audacious.
The expectation for a 60, 70, or 80-year-old person to cross U.S. 31 to get to their residence is irresponsible, unsafe, and unconscionable!
We advocate for every bedroom in the existing Tamarack Lodge to have a dedicated reserved parking spot clearly marked in the main parking lot. This must be recognized as a fundamental right of ownership.
The addition of 160 rooms to the existing Tamarack Lodge is simply too many and not practical or feasible. The numbers do not align! We firmly believe that parking spots are being double-counted and misappropriated between the adjacent event center, the Alexandra down the street, and the main Tamarack lot. Furthermore, we contend that the current site plan is unrealistic, flawed, and represents a massive overreach!
As existing owners, we demand that our needs be prioritized in any expansion plans and that all current plans be immediately halted to fully consider our concerns and needs.
